Ambassador Luis Gallegos Participates in the 4th Roundtable of the “Mainstreaming Knowledge on Ageing” Series

On 13 November 2025, Ambassador Luis Gallegos Chiriboga, President of GIA Longevity, participated virtually in the 4th edition of the Roundtable SeriesMainstreaming Knowledge on Ageing: Bridging paths towards strengthening protection and participation”, organized by the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) and supported by a broad coalition of UN agencies and global partners.

This session, titled “Increased Demographics, Urbanism and the Right to Food for Older Persons”, brought together international experts to address how demographic shifts, urban development and food systems intersect with the rights and wellbeing of older persons.

Ambassador Gallegos delivered the Closing Remarks on the Occasion of the 4th Year of the Series, highlighting the urgent need to deepen protection frameworks, strengthen participation mechanisms, and advance coordinated responses to support older persons in a rapidly changing world.

The event was organized with the support of an exceptional group of UN agencies and partners, including: UNDESA, UNFPA, ILO, IOM, UNHCR, WHO, UN Women, ITU, and the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, along with the participation of global experts such as representatives from FAO, INPEA, ILC GA and Harvard Law School.

Through this initiative, GIA Longevity reaffirms its commitment to contributing to global dialogue and policy development for ageing, longevity and the protection of human rights.
