Our President, Ambassador Luis Gallegos Chiriboga, is entering a new chapter in his distinguished career, stepping down as Chair of the Board of UNITAR (United Nations Institute for Training and Research) after nearly six years of impactful leadership.
Under his presidency (2019–2025), UNITAR provided training to 2.3 million people across all continents 🌍 and expanded its global network to 33 CIFAL centres, building capacity to face global challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic and increasing geopolitical tensions.
In his own words:
“Just as we committed ourselves to defending the rights of the 1.3 billion people with disabilities, it is now time to focus on the causes of older persons and migrants.”
