GIA Longevity Welcomes Global Commitment to Brain Health at the G7 Canada Brain Economy Summit

GIA Longevity celebrates the bold global call to action on brain health launched at the recent G7 Canada Brain Economy Summit in Calgary. The Davos Alzheimer’s Collaborative (DAC), a leading force in global brain health, played a key role in the unveiling of the Canada Brain Economy Declaration—a strategic framework urging G7 nations to place brain health at the core of economic development and innovation agendas.

With brain disorders projected to cost over $16 trillion by 2030, the Declaration outlines a clear and ambitious roadmap for G7 leaders to implement ahead of the 2026 Summit in France:

  • Integration of brain capital into the 2025 G7 Leaders’ Communiqué

  • Alignment of national investments across health and finance ministries

  • Establishment of a G7+ Brain Economy Working Group

  • Launch of a G7 Brain Economy Conference

As stated by George Vradenburg, DAC’s Founding Chairman:

“Brain health is foundational to our future economy. No nation can afford to ignore the multi-trillion-dollar cost of unaddressed brain disorders.”

This Declaration marks a significant shift in international policy thinking—recognizing brain health, encompassing mental, neurological, and substance use conditions, as not only a healthcare imperative but a key driver of global productivity, innovation, and competitiveness.

DAC’s contribution is part of its ongoing Brain Health Tour, a global initiative gathering stakeholders across disciplines to advance a shared brain health agenda. The tour will continue at UNGA80 in New York this September and culminate at the 2026 World Economic Forum, where the Global Brain Economy Roadmap will be officially launched.
